General Requirements of the Position:

• Senior Farm Hand / 2IC responsible for overseeing a team of up to 6 casual staff plus contractors during busy periods
• 2IC of the enterprise during farm owner’s absence and undertake relevant higher duties as required
• Operate machinery as required (Harvesters, Boomspray, Tractors, Hay Balers, Mowers)
• Carry out general farm maintenance as required including fencing and building repairs
• Maintain a variety of record keeping across rainfall, paddock, plant and machinery
• Undertake post seeding and harvest reviews
• Implement cropping program in a timely manner including seeding, spraying, spreading, hay and harvest
• Understand and co-ordinate Occupational Health & Safety activities

Technical Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years within leadership capacity
• 5 years experience operating sprayers, tractors and harvesters
• Experience operating hay baler and telehandlers
• Sound mechanical skills
• John Deere Greenstar GPS knowledge and experience with programming and uploading data to Apex, JD Operations etc
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
