Livestock Manager, near Esperance, WA (REF 153546)

To be considered, you will have a significant background working with livestock (sheep) and are ready to take the next step in your career.  Previous management experience is not essential however you must be an excellent communicator, be able to work within a team environment and have a genuine passion for working with livestock.  An attractive salary and on-farm accommodation to suit single, couple or small family.

About The Role:

  • Responsible for the hands-on, day to day management of 12,000 ewe merino stock
  • Animal husbandry
  • Lead and manage a team to ensure efficient management of sheep work
  • While the sheep enterprise is the prime focus of this role, you may be called upon to assist with cropping and general farm work as required

About You:

  • Minimum 3-4 years experience working within a similar role or alternatively an individual who is looking to step up and take on the added responsibility
  • Sheep experience highly desirable however those who have worked with cattle will also be considered
  • Minimum HR truck licence
  • Ability to take on a leadership role and promote a positive team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated initiative
  • Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture or related discipline will be highly regarded but not essential
  • Own working dogs favourable

  • Attractive base salary plus on-farm accommodation
  • 3x1 accommodation, recently painted and new flooring 
  • Ordinary hours during off-peak average around 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday. Additional hours as required and increasing during seasonal busy periods
